People with diabetes get enough lectures. Agreed?

If someone is having a rough time, please empathize first. Then (and only then!) share advice. For one, if someone doesn't feel understood, they won't listen to your advice. More importantly, when someone is in a difficult place emotionally, blood sugars are nearly impossible to control. The act of accepting and supporting someone may be a more important step towards better blood sugars than all of the advice in the world.
